SAFEOREGON STUDENT AMBASSADOR PROGRAM

Ambassador Responsibilities:

SafeOregon Ambassadors work directly with school administrators, staff, and other students to build awareness of the school safety tip line in their school. SafeOregon Ambassadors will find new and innovative ways to promote SafeOregon in their school throughout the school year. Ambassadors will also assist with the administration of a SafeOregon student pre- and post-survey at the beginning and end of the school year.

Perks of being an ambassador include special SafeOregon swag, the opportunity to learn new/develop leadership skills and network with other SafeOregon ambassadors across the state, certificate of participation, and letters of recommendation.

Qualifications

To apply, you must be a high school student in grades 11-12 for the upcoming school year. SafeOregon is looking for students who:
● Are responsible, reliable, and able to work independently
● Have an interest in school safety, leadership development, marketing, and/or community
service
● Are self-starters, creative, and excited about getting involved in new projects
● Are empathetic about mental health and other issues facing teens and youth
● Have school staff/leadership that is willing to support you and your project(s)

Ambassadors are selected through a competitive application process. Selected ambassadors will serve for an entire school year with an option to reapply the following year.

Student Expectations

The student ambassadors will serve as positive role models for their peers and conduct themselves in a manner that represents SafeOregon and their individual schools in a positive manner. In addition, students agree to meet and share their local SafeOregon advocacy efforts with SafeOregon administrators monthly.

We have selected our 2023-24 ambassadors. Check back for our 2024 applications in the Spring.
